Friends of Ilkley Rail Station (FOIRS)

Ilkley BID have been supporting the Friends of Ilkley Rail Station (FOIRS) in their endeavours to improve the look of and facilities at Ilkley railway station. This involves a wide range of stakeholders including the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, Network Rail, Northern Rail, Bradford Council and Robbie Moore MP.

Ilkley Rail station is the gateway to the town and by working together, we can create a more positive experience for visitors, workers and locals, ultimately benefiting businesses.

To formalise this partnership working, we have formed the Ilkley Rail and Bus Board which Helen Rhodes, BID Manager regularly attends.

“As Chair of Friends of Ilkley Rail Station (FOIRS) the first action for me was to find organisations who could support us in helping to bring improvements to the rail station for the residents, visitors & businesses of Ilkley. Ilkley BID were fundamental in bringing the organisation and operational requirements we needed to be successful. Most recently, Ilkley BID helped us put together our consultation with residents & businesses of Ilkley (including hosting our online survey) to understand their needs & priorities from their station. We have recently achieved a significant investment from Network Rail in our station for which Ilkley BID helped significantly.”
