Ilkley BID has introduced two Augmented Reality trails to enjoy this spooky season in Ilkley town centre.
The first ‘Halloween Hunt’ trail is a joint initiative between the LoyalFree app and Ilkley BID and runs from 17th October until 31st October and invites participants to enjoy some augmented reality spooky surprises when using their smartphone cameras.
15 locations around the town centre shops are taking part in the LoyalFree Halloween Trail this year.
This is a free activity inviting families to take part walking around the town by following the trail on the LoyalFree app to bring Wanda and Wicca’s story to life. The fun activity involves finding the hidden markers in shop windows scanning the QR codes to see Wanda the Witch’s floating potion ingredients appear magically in front of you using your smartphone camera! Once you’ve scanned all 15 markers and collected the ingredients for Wanda’s witchy brew you can cast the spell and conjure Wicca the cat!

The second ‘Spooky Ilkley’ trail on Ilkley BID’s dedicated Discover Ilkley app takes you on a terror-ific trail to capture 7 virtual Augmented Reality monsters, ghouls and other creepy characters at ghostly locations across the town centre.
Use the GPS animated map in the App to discover each one, if you dare.
You can also capture and share photos of the scenes and characters with your friends and family using the in-app camera button.
