The ballot result for the Ilkley Business Improvement District was announced on Friday 29th March at Sachi’s restaurant in The Moors Shopping Centre.
The Development Board are delighted to confirm that the ballot was successful and the BID for Ilkley will now be implemented with a start date of 1st June. Of the businesses who returned the ballot papers, 81% were in favour and the rateable value of those who voted yes was 87% of the aggregate; a result of more than 50% was required for each element.
What happens Next
The Development Board are starting the process of setting up Ilkley BID Limited. Part of this process will involve recruiting unpaid Directors who will make decisions on what the BID should spend the levy income on and how the project should respond to the needs of the levy paying members. This board of directors will be made up of a cross-section of individuals representing the various industry sectors.
An information evening is being held on Wednesday 1st May at 6.30pm in the function room at Banyan. Anyone who is going to be a levy payer and would like to find out more should register to come along.
A BID Manager will be recruited to help deliver the projects and provide a day to day point of contact for businesses regarding BID activity.
