The Ilkley Business Improvement District is dedicating the month of May to promote Ilkley’s health, beauty and wellness businesses and to highlight the importance of physical and mental wellbeing.

The month-long campaign is showcasing the businesses in the town that contribute to a person’s wellbeing, ranging from fitness studios, beauty salons, dentists and opticians, to retailers that promote a healthy lifestyle, such as outdoor clothing shops, and those encouraging mindfulness through arts and crafts.

A dedicated web page has been set up listing all the participating businesses and their special offers and there will be dedicated business spotlights on the Discover llkley social media channels and in its newsletter.

May also sees the welcome return of the Health & Wellbeing Festival at the Clarke Foley Community Hub. This vibrant event, which is held on 24th May between 11am and 2pm, brings together a wide range of health and wellbeing-focused stalls, offering visitors the chance to explore products, try out holistic tasters, and connect with professionals on key topics such as women’s health, men’s mental health support, and much more.

Speaking ahead of the Health & Wellbeing Festival, Anna Clewlow, Marketing Coordinator at the Clarke Foley Community Hub said:

“After the success of our previous health and wellbeing events, we’re really looking forward to hosting our 2025 Festival, sponsored by Jo Kirk Therapies, and encouraging visitors to the event to explore health & wellness. We’re delighted that we’ve got a full house of stallholders from local businesses, charities, and organisations who will be providing information, advice, products and services, as well as free tasters.

“Health and wellbeing are at the core of what we do, and it’s great that both the Clarke Foley Community Hub and Ilkley BID are raising awareness of all the great services that people have available to them locally, as well as what we provide. Admission to the event is free and information about the stallholders can be found on our Facebook page.”

Sarah Brookfield-Almond, Ilkley BID Manager, said:

“llkley has long been known as a place to boost health and fitness and it has a wealth of incredible businesses dedicated to helping you thrive and enhancing your overall wellbeing. Whether you’re seeking a little pampering, need expert care, or are looking to nurture your mind and body through movement and relaxation, Ilkley has it all.

“We’re really pleased to be able to shine a spotlight on the fantastic beauty salons, talented hairdressers, insightful opticians, skilled physiotherapists, motivating exercise coaches, and retailers offering the tools to support your wellness journey this May and beyond.” For all the details of Ilkley BID’s Health & Wellbeing Month, visit: www.discoverilkley.co.uk.
