Ilkley BID has awarded £15k to the Improving Ilkley group to fund the Brook Street fountain restoration project. The fountain is an important feature in Ilkley and the funding will help with the first stage of the fountain development which is to replace the original gravity fed mechanism, repair the font and get the fountain fully working again.
Phase 2 of the project will be to create the seating space around the fountain with the completed project seeing the fountain taking its rightful place right in the heart of the town.
This legacy project, which will be enjoyed by residents and visitors now and for many years to come, fulfils one of the BID’s aims to maintain Ilkley as an attractive place and enhance the visitor experience.
