The first Ilkley Town Crier Competition will take place on Saturday 13th May 2023.
Funded by Ilkley BID as part of Pillar 1 to create a promotional campaign that will benefit local businesses across the town, the competition will consist of 2 rounds, the Home Cry in the morning and the themed cry in the afternoon.
The themed cry will be celebrating renowned Ilkley businesses, and each Town Crier will be allocated a different business to cry about.
This is a national event, bringing together town criers from across the country to compete against each other under the watchful eyes of the local judges.
The event is organised by Ilkley BID and hosted by Ilkley’s Town Crier Isabel Ashman.
